Would You Do It? The Power of Kindness in Everyday Situations
WOULD YOU DO IT? How many times have you seen someone broke down on the side of the road and you think I should stop. Well, someone else will probably stop. How about a mother who is explaining to her child at the grocery store they can’t afford that kind of cereal. Would you buy it? would you offer to buy it? Each of us have been faced with “A Good Samaritan” situation. For me, I have always been too busy. Most of us have the heart to “Do It”, but have an excuse why we can’t or don’t. I ran into another challenging situation on Monday passing out food. The homeless are becoming more and more scattered, working to find a place to sleep, because of that they end up on the sidewalk in front of an abandoned house. We stopped for the first time to feed a group that we spotted. As we were finishing feeding the group, a neighbor walked out and said, “please don’t feed them”. “They leave garbage everywhere, and you are keeping them here by feeding them”. I saw her point about how they leave garbage everywhere, I was just frustrated by her comment to not feed them. The world needs more kindness, more concern, and more people caring to make a difference. I believe My Hand To Yours, allows all of us, the opportunity to do all 3, and to finally say to ourselves, “I would do it”. “I am doing it”! Thank you for the pillows, thank you for the apple sauce, thank you for the blankets, shoes, socks, pant and shirts, and thank you for the many food items you have purchased. A friendly lady in Reno named Joan mailed My Hand To Yours a check for $20, and said, ” I’m sorry I couldn’t send more”. I said you just fed 5 people! You did it, you would do it. She did all 3. This is a marvelous opportunity in front of us to let ourselves know, we would do it, we did it! Thank you for Helping Us Help Them! myhandtoyours.org
